Music is my first love. Closely followed by peace + <3.
I’m a musician looking to forge my own career path – a therapeutic side of music in non-profit/community arts through educational outreach serving under-served populations framed by what I call my trifecta – Yoga, Music, Education. Whether it’s Education through Yoga, Music Education, or Yoga Music I’m fascinated by the possibilities what all these different areas bring.
My current field of studies is music education heavily influenced by the work of Edwin Gordon and a multitude of other psychologists and educators. I’m a vocalist with a fond love of a cappella music from every period and country looking to really expand on ways to think about body alignment/Body Mapping/Alexander Technique in my own singing. I’m also currently going through a 200-hour yoga teacher certification that focuses on energy, breath, and bodywork with enough anatomy and physiology to keep me crazy.
My latest passions include Asian Pacific Islander American issues & LGBTQ+ issues and finding ways to apply a multicultural perspective in LGBTQ+ activism, as well as finding meaningful ways to use the Arts as a vehicle for social change.
Further breakdown of the trifecta in a mindmap:
Other craziness that I find myself engaged in: food & drinking, wedding planning, graphic designing, woodworking & furniture design, computers & technology, diy-ing.
